It's been a while since I've watched the first season so I might not be remembering it all but i'm enjoying the focus on kiyoi's perspective on their relationship this season so far. I remember it being really focused on Hira's in the first season, even after the turning point where he begins to see kiyoi as more... human and as a romantic possibility for himself. So to see more of how kiyoi sees hira and their relationship is nice. I'm hoping for his growth as a character be more central to their relationship this time around while hira has a chance to grow as an individual apart from his relationship with kiyoi.

Yeah I think Kiyoi’s perspective was only shown towards the end. It’s very cute to see him insecure idk why, but knowing they both like each other but have trouble expressing it is so sweet.
