Ok I see Amagi also as having severe abandonment issues. I agree when you said he was projecting sadness onto Takara. I think he was projecting his sadness from constantly feeling left and alone and like no one would want to be his friend. He doesn't want that for Takara and is convinced any proximity to him would create a similar circumstance.

Oh that’s a really good perspective! I totally missed how his backstory informed him because it was so vague. But yes it makes sense how he is afraid that Tamara will feel the same abandonment.
