Sorry I've been a bit slack in writing these recently. Monster from the Ocean Floor is Roger Corman's first film as producer, which makes it well worth a look. What I love about the Corman films of this era is that we can always skip through them fast because there is a lot of filler (particularly the underwater scenes), but whenever someone speaks it's absolute gold. When I write a review, most of the time I have a specific clip in mind to illustrate my point but there are also places where clips act as dividers as I change point or reactions by the film to what I've said ('I don't understand' is a useful one, as is 'I don't know', or insults so it looks as if the film is hitting back at me). Some films we really struggle to find these clips but with Roger Corman we're spoilt for choice. This was a fun one to do.

I've always been fascinated with the word choices used on these posters, here we have "Forbidden Depths". Always makes me wonder who has forbidden these depths and why? Is there a local government office where you can apply to have something forbidden, a left over from some ancient charter, or something told by wise old geezers living on some mountain top? There's probably a degree thesis in those questions.

There needs to be a name for that thing where the movie interacts with you 🤔
