One we've been looking at doing for a while but, to be honest, not my favourite. I found it a bit of a boring watch and I spent most of it thinking 'Why are you doing this?'. One of those films where the decisions the characters make seem to be based on taking them to the inevitable end rather than on any logic. Still, it has Bernard Bresslaw from Carry On, Patricia Quinn from Rocky Horror, Shane Bryant from Hammer, Roy Kinnear from The 3 Musketeers and Jack Palance acting as hard as he can.

Legend has it Jack’s acting force was limited only by his alcohol budget.

The film is no classic, but I still think it is a lot of fun. It was tough to take any fantasy film seriously at the time, due to budget and special effects restraints, but for those of us playing D&D in high school at the time, it was what we had to find enjoyment out of. The music was also good.

Awesome film, looking forward to it

Oh yes, thank you! Any film that uses Silly String as a weapon deserves the DC treatment, even if you have to say "how can any film this silly & over the top be boring? but it is" Please, do find out the proper term for that spinning thingie that Hawk sits in to transport to the various members of his A team; it was all the rage in jewelry shop windows many years ago, as a sort of "infinity" ring, but must have a real name.

Any actor required to play that part would have needed an alcohol budget just to come in to work....

I think that it's a hoot. The lead has all of the emotional range of John Philip Law in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, and the Elven Mind Sword moves so slowly even blind witch could intercept it, but I agree, it's a lot of fun!

I agree with you on this one. Dull. Pacing kinda took most of the fun out of this one for me.

Ah, Bernard Bresslaw displaying his immense acting skills. Well, I remember seeing it at the Elephant & Castle Odeon Cinema, sometime in my far distant youth. The jumping out of a tree 'special effect', the fights where sword wielding warriors aim for, and hit, other peoples swords... such joy!
