I'm Not Working On: Satan's Slave (Patreon)

Had a few false started recently; War Goddess (which it rapidly became apparent we weren't reviewing) and this, which I watched to the end before deciding to leave it. I think it's probably a good thing for the series if I'm getting more selective, but the truth is that if I had watched this before Demon Wind, Slayer, Terror (directed by the same guy) et al, then we probably would have have reviewed it. It's not that it would make a really bad review, but it would make a very samey one. That said, there is nothing to distinguish this film, no hook to hang a review on, so I don't think it would have been one of our best. The only thing I might have been able to use is that there is an hour of 'things happening' (gore, snakes, nudity, torture, lots of significant glancing) and then a MASSIVE information dump to explain it all. There is a lot of quite nasty violence towards women, which wasn't necessary to the plot, and in some cases didn't seem to be anything to do with it. But it was the ending that really made my decision - it is 1970s satanic horror ending by numbers. I mentioned in a recent detractors commentary that I was a bit sick of these films. Now I am more so.
Putting Prime Evil on the back burner until I've got some distance from these films.
