Hi guys,

Just clarifying that I won't be working on Swords: Pens & Papercuts for a while. Ultimately what it comes down to is that I have a finite amount of time to get our Kickstarter game, Swords: Cut the Deck out the door, and because we ended up incorporating tabletop roleplaying elements into it with several campaign PDFs, it no longer makes sense for me to work on the two in tandem.

The way I intend for things to shape up now goes as follows:

- Once the game designer Thane has a really nicely polished CtD campaign with all the art done and we've rigorously playtested it with lots of card combos, I will adopt it as the base to create some campaigns of my own

- I'll aim to start delivering PDF Cut the Deck campaigns as a Patreon reward. In my mind I think one a month, voted on by the community should be very achievable. If we can reach a level of efficiency where the community vote and I make a few comics that tie into the campaign, even better. I would very much like each campaign to be a canonical extension of the Swords universe, provided you play as the recommended characters.

- I think there is still value in pursuing Pens & Papercuts as a separate product, but because there was some tension between people wanting a rules light flavourful thing and me wanting a game where an eternal character sheet accumulates scars of war between many games, I may have to weigh those up against where we land when the card game is done. It may also make sense to have an elaborate character sheet but make the game rules compatible with all of the CtD weapon cards instead of, y'know, making rules for every sword twice.

I'll make sure all the previous versions of Pens & Papercuts are available in the Scholars of Patreon drive directory for archival reasons soon. I'm also working on a Dungeons & Dragons campaign hook inspired by the Pens & Papercuts campaign The Paper Rapier, which needs some polish after the feedback I've already received, but once I've got that right, I'll be adding some more like it.

Feel free to provide any feedback about other rewards you want to see on each tier.

Oh! And you can still preorder Cut the Deck here.
Oh! And there are two new Makeship products that are in the works. I've sent back notes on both prototypes and am waiting to sign off the final designs. Who could those be?
Oh! And it's my birthday next week. Tee hee.

Thanks for your support!
