So, I haven't used Renpy at any point in time but are you basically using three or four different images of the character and overlaying/removing particular portions to paint the scene?

So, I can’t put eyes on any of your work but I’m assuming it’s a layering/transparency issue as opposed to a coding issue. There’s a difference between portions of an image marked as blank vs portions marked as transparent. Then there’s also the way the images are layered. If you have another image or two that are blank rather than transparent they can block out any layers underneath and make the image below them disappear. This is especially a problem that comes up when you have three or more images all on top of each other. Again though I don’t know where you’re at and how you’re trying to make this work so I’m sorry if I’m telling you something you already know or if I’m completely off base.
