I was a bit nervous uploading this one.  Would people object to it in some way?  I am more confident now, as I have today received a few e-mails from ex-service personnel who have thanked me for getting it as right as I did.  It is discursive, and a little bit speculative, and perhaps a bit long, and has a big complicated issue to deal with.  Soonish, I'll upload another long one about the problems of training men to kill.

Battle fatigue - did it affect soldiers in the ancient world?

We know that soldiers today suffer from the mental stresses of combat, but did those of the ancient world do too?
