About our posts. They come out quite rarely and there is the reason. Because English is not our native language, then writing posts requires a lot of preparation and takes time. It would be great to immediately write you a report on each passed stage, but at the moment it is more convenient for us to compile the final post on several achievements. If you are afraid of these moments of silence and you think that the project is abandoned, then do not worry about it. First of all, this game is a hobby for us, an activity that brings us joy, and we will not abandon it, regardless of how financially successful it will be. We will bring Natasha's adventures to their (happy?) ending.
Release date. Hell, we have failed you too many times here already, and until we not let us to call any of concrete dates, to not fail you again. We understand that more than enough time has passed and you want to see the continuation of the story, but at the moment we are not ready yet. Yes, many of you would suggest to lay out now everything as is, but we have the quality standards and we try to adhere to them. We hope that you support us for this very reason. In any case, once we have determined the specific dates, we will notify you immediately.
What are we working on and what has already been done? We continue to optimize the game's resources, reducing the size and making it easier to work with them. What used to be 16 files and weighed over 20 megabytes is now compiled into one file and weighs more than 10 times less. Some were surprised by this focus of work and negatively related to the news about the mobile version, but all this is done primarily for performance and stable work of the PC version of the game. Many developers using RPG Maker have encountered that increasing the number of images reduces performance and leads to longer downloads. We faced it too, and this is our solution. In addition, this is also necessary to go to the browser version of the game. Many will consider this superfluous, but the solution of problems and work in this direction makes our Honeybadger happy, so we will continue. Ultimately, this will make it easier for us to get feedback from you, and give you instant access to all the latest patches and updates, without having to wait until we pack the next one "0.X blablabla" release.
To make it easier for you to discover content, we've decided to introduce a progress bar. So you can understand how much more content in the current version you have not opened yet. The working prototype is not yet ready, but it will look something like this.
Also we finally made a working journal, so now you will be able at any moment to look again at the events which you have discovered. How it all works can be seen here.
We continue working on animations and integrating them into the game. Here you can watch new battles, with animated idle poses for Natasha and her enemies.
Already now the game has a working system of import and export of save files, so that in the future you can easily move your save to another platform, or download someone else's save\share yours.
There are even more minor graphical and technical improvements, bug fixes, etc., but it is unlikely that you will be interested in such particular, and there is no need to stretch this review even more.
Huh, that was a big post. And if you read it to the end, here's a little bonus for example: Before/After.
