Major Milestone: Soulcoom is Now on Steam!

Enhancements to Player Navigation and Ownership:

In our continuous effort to improve the gameplay experience, we've been focusing on enhancing the vehicle for player navigation and exploration within the game. A key aspect of this has been enriching the feeling of player ownership within our expanding world.

World Building:

In the world of Soulcoom, each Fairy home features a dom and a sub living in harmony. As the player enters this world, you take over a relieved milf character's sub, who is excited to serve a "short-eared" fairy (The Player), setting the stage for your quest to explore the world.

Gameplay and Technical Enhancements:

  • Enhanced Movement and Interaction: We've implemented a solid walking and movement animation, along with a toggleable run feature activated by holding the shift key. Interaction with the environment has been improved by enabling entry into the overworld upon interacting with doors.

  • Optimized NPC Modeling: Our optimization efforts have allowed for more unique NPCs without performance constraints. We can now host over 100 identical NPCs in the same scene/location with minimal impact on performance.

  • Integrated Sex Scenes in Overworld: We've added functionality for integrating sex scenes into the isometric overworld, using a shared camera space for both models. While we plan to maintain most sex scenes in a strictly 2D view, this integration offers new possibilities which we have begun exploring with a 2.5D map.

  • Bug Fixes and Feedback Implementation: We've addressed various cumulative feedback issues, including sound effects, immersion breaking visual issues like the iris popping out, and item rendering bugs. 

Exploration Mechanics:

  • Seamless 2.5D to 2D Transition: Our models now exist in a separate space, allowing for seamless transitions between 2.5D and 2D environments. This setup enables clearer navigation and interaction, with environment collision and automatic fading to ensure visibility.

  • Dynamic NPC and Environment Interaction: With the addition of walking animations and NPCs milling about in custom backgrounds, we are enhancing the liveliness of our environments.
