Due to my ongoing stress, I'm sure many of you have noticed that over the last several months my output has been shaky.  I've stopped taking many types of commissions, and haven't even publicly opened them since July.  Personal drawings have almost entirely stopped.  And the monthly pinups voted on by the supporters on Patreon/FANBOX are coming later and later. I've realized that isn't going to change unless I make it change.

The first of those changes will be that as of January 2022, I will be discontinuing the monthly votes and exclusive pinups for the foreseeable future.  The pinups have unfortunately become a noticeable contributor to my stress.  I'm always worried about what it's going to be, how it'll turn out, if it will even be what you generous people want to see.  They become a point constant concern and I feel utterly stuck until the end of the month approaches and I race to get something finished.  This is not a healthy way to deal to with that responsibility and it's only getting worse. So, for the time being the exclusive pinups will cease.

Furthermore, I will be canceling December's pinup.  I will give refunds for this month to those on Patreon who request it.  If you do want a refund, please send me a message.  Unfortunately FANBOX does not offer any refund option on the creator's side.  I deeply apologize for this.

I will continue to post WIPs, time lapses, and finished pieces early on here though.

Second, I will be restructuring my commission tiers.  Commissions have been my main source of income for some time and will likely continue to be that way for a while.  However I haven't taken any large-scale projects due to poor management of my workload over and over again.  And even the smaller offers I do take, a lot of the work I get now is often private and unable to be shared.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that 2021 was my busiest year for commissions, but if you look at my output you wouldn't see anything to suggest this.  These are things I'm still thinking a lot about and will have an update on in the future when I have something solid to post.

The third thing I intend to change is carving time for more personal projects.  And by projects, I mean comics and my own characters that I have been neglecting.  The biggest reason I started my Patreon/FANBOX pages was to have a source of income I could grow over time.  This would allow me to focus more on my own ideas and less on the ideas of others.  While the amount of commission work I've taken on has continued to grow, I'm finding less reason to put more effort into platforms such as Patreon/FANBOX.

I've said before that if I could reach a certain monthly threshold that I would begin working on a comic at a rate of a page a month.  At the rate things are going now, that's not going to happen.  If I stay the course I'm currently on, it's probably never going to.  While it's too soon to say when, I will be shifting the primary focus of my Patreon/FANBOX pages to tackling my own passion projects.

I know this isn't the kind of major update that anybody, including myself, wanted to see.  I thank you all for the support you've given over nearly two years now.  It's helped more than you know.  And I thank anyone willing to continue their support.

Hey man, you do you. I never like to see an artist struggling creatively because they’re trying to figure out what will please their supporters rather than doing what they want to do. The pinups and polls have certainly been nice to have, but if they’re causing you to stress out, by all means give them the axe. I—and I’m sure most of the others here—support you because you’ve got a fun and refreshing art style with nicely varied subject selections, and will be happy with pretty much anything you post. Pinups, comics, whatever you want to make, I’m behind 100%. As for commissions, I’m extremely happy with the Odalia piece you did for me, and once I’m in a better financial situation (last few months have been kind of rough. Not enough to cancel subscriptions, but enough to clamp down on extra spending) I’d love to commission some more art from you, so I look forward to the revised pricing structure.
