I've gotten some feedback here and there that my use of "left" and "right" to describe orientation of features in the game is sometimes confusing, given that these terms are relative to your position. I've approached their use from the philosophy of "You're always standing at a fixed point in the room or area, examining things," but this gets especially weird in areas like the upstairs hallways that interlock at both ends.

Truthfully, it's a holdover practice from the very beginnings of the game, when I intended it to be a much more literary experience than an outright text adventure game. I knew the use of "East" and "West" would give a much more oldschool adventure game vibe, and that wasn't what I was after at the time.

All that said, I do see the merit of using the cardinal directions for clarity, and the game has certainly become much more of a true adventure game as development went on, so I wouldn't mind the change. It'll just take some time to implement.

So, I'm asking you guys if it's worth the time investment. It wouldn't happen until after V1.5.0 is released, so no delays there. It would take maybe 1-2 weeks of work to make it as a small version update.

Would this help you enjoy/navigate the game more easily?

You might have another option where you add descriptors for the options instead (narrow, color of walls, with skylights, row of pictures, etc.).
