I'm a personal fan of characters who show personality and like a good laugh.  They're fun to write, and sometimes they pop out on the page. As a teaser, I thought I'd  share the beginning of a story I'm editing so I can submit it to Fang 10. I previously wrote this when I attended RAWR back in 2017, but I've had some trouble finding the right tone I wanted to strike with it. This is an adult story, but this section is clean.

There are two things in this world I care about. One of them I like to put in my mouth and ass. The other is the person attached to that object. Some might say my priorities are questionable, but I just call them uncomplicated.

Of course in a moment like this, when I'm covered in dried mud, being dragged by the second, I kind of wish I had the first thing to contend with right now.

"I thought the point of this trip was to enjoy ourselves," I snip, carefully stepping over the gully we are crossing.

"Hey, you picked this trail," he calls from the top of the gully. "You should have not fallen in on the way out to the mesa."

"I said we should plan a trip through the desert! Not through a lake!" I say, throwing my hands up in the air.

He laughs. "It does occasionally still rain out here."

"You could have warned me, Leister!"

The painted dog gives me a squeaky, high pitched laugh. "I figured when I jumped over the stream, you would have shown some caution Muri. But hey, come on, you covered in mud isn't that different from how you often look."
