Jack's mom is played by Elaine Stritch, who was well known (RIP) but majorly on stage. She's not the biggest name, but she is PERFECT for Jack's mom. She also supposedly was going to play the character Bea Arthur played on The Golden Girls (Dorothy). Definitely would have worked almost as well I think.

Watching you two lose it completely to "Tell him I love him, but not in a queer way" was delightful. Also somehow the second season is even more funny than the first, with even more rapid fire jokes. It is an astoundingly strong season of television.
