Another good option to replace Schitt's Creek is The Bear. Much more serious I think, but still a heartfelt show with funny parts, family, overcoming adversities etc :)

My own impression (chiming in as another gay man) has always been that neither David nor Patrick would ever have gone through with the "...or whatever" part of the evening. They were intrigued and flattered by Jake's attention (Patrick maybe especially so, as we don't see him receive a lot of that kind of flirtation), they were ready to have the drink and maybe play "chicken" with the idea a bit, for the pleasurable buzz of flattery Jake provides... but as soon as it threatened to get real, they would be out of there -- as indeed we saw them do, the moment it was clear what sort of soirée this was set up to be.

I think this really depends on your own comfort levels either straight or gay, some couples like to be adventurous and spice it up. We just didn't see them as the type to try it. They can both be a little jealous sometimes. It was a really funny bit though.

I'd love you to watch Psych, it is so good too ! Dulé Hill, and a bunch of others great actors and it's a lot of fun ! ...but it's 8 seasons and 3 movies. But yeah, Derry Girls, Community. The first one isn't very long indeed but it's hilarious and warm.
