I just have to say how much I enjoy all your reactions, to this and other shows. As someone who came of age in the '80s, I remember how the nuclear arms race and the cold war with Russia really dominated the news of the day. Before Gorbechev implemented the policies of Perestroika and Glasnost, Reagan called them the "Evil Empire" and made us feel that at any time things could go wrong and the only thing saving us from nuclear annihilation was the idea of mutually assured destruction. Even the biggest pop stars of the day made songs about it. If you never listened to them before, check out Ronnie Talk to Russia by Prince (1982) and Russians by Sting (1985).
