"I'm the Villain in My Own Story" actually goes all the way back to season 1, when Rebecca discovered how much her behavior was hurting Valencia. The end of this episode is oddly one of my favorites, though (actually, because) it's one of the most mundane and matter-of-fact. Just Rebecca sitting down at home, firing off a couple of necessary texts (one supportive, one apology), beginning the medication her doctor has recommended, and then then getting down to work with a notebook. I enjoy the casting of all the doctors on the show: both Dr.'s Akopian, beautiful (personally but also visually) Dr. Shin, the very unalike brothers Roth (yes, Rachel Bloom's husband), and our glimpse here of Paula's never-named gynecologist, who got a lot of life and individuality into his few lines.
