I love that Rachel Bloom, you guys, and I are in agreement about not thinking much of Cats. (I was glad that the course I taught was History of AMERICAN Musicals, so I didn't have to include it at all.) All the songs have titles like "[Adjective] Vagina Metaphor" except for "Nostalgia," which obviously matches up with "Memory." The cats themselves have a variety of (er) pedigrees: I think you recognized Fred Armisen; Todrick Hall is a musical theater performer with a YouTube channel; Riki Lindholme is an actress whom I recall especially from the movies Much Ado About Nothing and Knives Out; and Megan Amram has been a writer and producer on several series like The Good Place -- but, interestingly, not this one. And just like last week ("I'm Not the Person I Used To Be"), the title benefits from another look after you've seen the episode. "I Need Some Balance" indeed!

I'd recognize Fred Armisen anywhere, sadly that was the only face that stood out. Yeah, never got the Cats hype.

Amongst all the love drama and "cat issues", I really appreciated the interactions Rebecca and Valencia had in this episode. They were able to make Valencia a supportive friend without changing the fact that she is not as "free-spirited" as Rebecca and feels a slight judgement towards her choices.

I love that Valencia is "that" friend though. She's not putting up with the BS. You totally get why too. After everything they've been through, she might be her strongest friend. Next to Paula of course.
