One of the reasons I like this channel is so much is because of J&K recognizing the shots and sets and decorations and not just reacting to the storyline - very much more of a full experience that I relate to. Originally airing on December 5, 2018, 'We're Going to the Catskills!' is Episode 4 of Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is the 12th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.4, placing it as the #7 ranked episode of this season and #6 out of all the episodes shown so far.

+ Why do Jews go to Catskills? In the early 1900s, when Jews and other minorities were banned from upscale hotels and beaches around New York City, the Catskills offered refuge. Every summer, families fled their cramped apartments for the mountains. + The resort where Mrs Maisel was filmed (Scotts Family Resort) opened in 1869. It was sold / closed down in 2020, and the buildings have fallen into disrepair. If and when a redevelopment eventually takes place, I imagine they might need to bulldoze everything, which would be a shame. 1. That's amazing that they could have that and it looks like an absolute blast. 2. Out of all the terrible things that we associate with 2020 that's gotta be one of them, all the businesses that just aren't around anymore. I hope it comes back in full swing!
