You are both so right about how sweet, heartwarming, and profound this show can be. You are right a big part of the magic of the show is just how comforting and "good" the show is. Dan Levy has said in many ways his goal was making the opposite of Breaking Bad, a show which gets darker, grittier, and more violent as it goes on, instead his show is about breaking good, a show in which the characters and their world grow warmer, kinder, and more comforting as it goes on.

This is my personal favorite episode. 💜 A scene with drunk Moira AND Alexis wearing her heart on her sleeve? The dynamic you mentioned between David, Patrick, and Stevie? I was also so happy to hear how much you’re loving Patrick. He’s the best “love interest” character I’ve ever seen. Don’t get it twisted, Schitt’s Creek is in my top 3 favorite shows, but I would also watch a spin-off show starring Patrick, where it’s the family/town from his perspective, as the one of like 3 level-headed, down to earth people in town.
