this is my least favorite episode of this season but it has so many parallels to the season 2 finale ( which is by far my favorite episode of television). I'll point out two things to focus on this season and the next one that start being emphasized in this ep but the reason behind them isn't clear yet 1-scenes with kendall and water, whenever there's one after the accident( like the first scene of this season) there's a reason or metaphor for it, it may seem vague now but how he's facing the water each time is significant. 2- the use of the word " real", one of my favorite things done in this show, it will become more and more evident but logan's philosophy of what " real" is matches so much with some of the main themes of the show, episode 8,9 and 10 of this season explore that more than any one before but I'm pointing it out because it's nice to catch that since the beginning these motifs are there.

I've read on twitter that Michael Corleone is like Kendall Roy if his dad loved and cared for him and I thought that was on point, but I've also seen some people saying Shiv is more like Michael than Ken . It's hard to say because they're all too pathetic to be Michel but I agree with both views and I also think they could all be Fredo. I love how the s2 opening credits focus more on Shiv( she appears in the beginning alone instead of Kendall. There's a great video essay on YouTube called "succession:is the past real" that analyzes the opening credits and the shows relationship with the past and the word real but I only recommend watching it after finishing this season because it was made right after it finished and contains major spoilers :)

We would love to check that video out at the end of the run. I agree there are strong parallels to Shiv and Micheal, her being on the outside now seemingly being brought in. In the end the two mediums are different but I love the homage to The Godfather and they are both Machiavellian in their own way.

We will indeed keep an eye out for the water metaphor. It honestly went right over my head because of everything else going on but it does make total sense. Yes Logan is very superficial and says that he doesn't really care what other people think but that is not true. He does indeed care about public perception to a certain degree.

I was catching up on the reactions. Basically, Roman and Shiv were upset with Kendall because he was screwing them out of their inheritance which they're already rich but it's still dickish to do. Once again, if they were all on the same page they could probably do much damage.

I don't see them all being on the same page. They are constantly driving each other crazy and scheming. They definitely care about each other but their dad did a number on them.

To answer the question, it's death by dangerous driving whilst under the influence - good for a solid 14 years. Now since the end of s1 thanks to a law change it could be up to life in prison - took a LOT of campaigning to finally get that one on the law books.

Life in prison for a horrible accident seems a bit extreme. Jail time absolutely. I don't agree with the eye for an eye mentality.

Wouldn't have happened if he wasn't driving whilst in search of and high as a kite on drugs. A lot of people have gotten away with very serious deaths over the years because courts were limited in their power versus for example the power of the courts if it was a crane operator on those drugs dropped 10 tons of metal on somebody. It should be down to the courts but previously they were limited - now it would be classed as high culpability and he'd be on the top end of it.
