The US is (one of?) the only countries in the world where Ambassadorships are not the pinnacle of the diplomatic corps, many or most of them are political gifts.

Heads-up, there's an undertitle on the HBO MAX descriptor for S1E22 that unfortunately drops a major spoiler, (i.e. displayed if you pause the episode, etc) so make sure you start it "clean" if you can.

West Wing releases on Wednesdays reminded me that the show was on Wednesday nights during it's original run. There were even people in government like Alan Greenspan who it was famously known you could NOT reach during the time the show was on lol. Tidbit I was just reminded of listening to Aaron Sorkin on The West Wing Weekly podcast.

Also note Ed and Larry in the beginning of the episode - they will be around forever and still minor but very well loved characters!

"It's nice when we can do something for prostitutes once in awhile."

No spoilers of course (wouldn't DREAM of it), but season 2 does start off with a two-parter so when you're doing your scheduling may want to hit those together...and hopefully release together as well lol.

1) I’m sooo happy for y’all with how your channel is growing — you are really putting a LOT of time, effort, and passion into this work and it shows. 2) My parents both worked for the State Department for a long time —including being an acting Ambassador in foreign countries at times. They also LOVED TWW, which is how I first watched it. This kind of ambassador shuffle, and pretty much every time they involve State in this show, is totally fictional, just to say that in case anyone is curious. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We figured the show takes several liberties in order to dramatize everything that happens in The White House, otherwise it would probably be a boring show lol. That must have been an interesting experience growing up! Thank you so much for your support we genuinely appreciate it, we do it for you guys!!

This was such a feel-good moment, everyone really put out their nicest inner persona. People felt good, helped each others, and the good of the world was the central point of the episode. Laurie was not something they used to fire Sam, instead Bartlet supported him. They treated that cheater ambassador with a great nice Jed-Charlie moment. Josh and Joey had a super funny back and forth for the whole episode and CJ had her moment What a way to go into a Season Finale I only hoped you didn't know about the cliffhanger

I do like that they gave a little insight into the difficulties associated with public opinion polling. I worded for a prominent polling firm that handled polling for General Wesley Clark (and then general Democratic polling after the Primaries) during the 2004 Election cycle and cold-calling and getting people to want to go through a 10-15 minute survey wasn't easy then and a lot of hyper-partisan people wouldn't even complete the survey if they got a question that to them seemed as though it was coming from Democratic candidate (I can't imagine how much tougher it is now). Then, you get to the point where you have met the minimum requirements for one demographic and you get someone who wants to respond but in the demo questions they turn out to be in the group you don't need responses from anymore...a waste of your time and theirs. It can be a tough gig.

And, since this is the first time I've posted on here since I became a Patron way back when I saw this series being done, I will say that I love this show. I've seen it through a few times and some seasons several times. Season 1 is a great introduction to the characters and tone of the series, but Season 2 has several of the best episodes of the series (and in television history, IMO), from the first episode to the season finale. Great writing, acting, character arcs. I look forward to you both getting to see it.

After the season finale, you are going to want to review S2 Episode 1 and 2 in the same week. It's a two-parter in the series and both top-notch episodes.

an interesting thing about names - If you haven't noticed Sorkin tends to reuse names a lot - and plot lines especially if you watch across his series (Sports Night, WW, Studio 60, and The Newroom) names like Stackhouse, Sam Seaborn's character is a continuation of Jeremy from Sports Night, and Laurie here in continues the plan he had for Jenny on Sports Night... And if you notice - "What Kind of Day Has It Been" is the title of the last episode of the first season for Sports Night, WW, and Studio 60, and the last episode of season 3 (and series finale) of The Newroom.

Huh, that's really interesting. I know that he has used the egg joke several times as well. I honestly like that he does that. It makes his work feel like a piece, like they all coincide with each other.
