"Heavy Boobs" is the only song not written specifically for the series -- at least, Rachel Bloom has said that she'd had a vague idea of creating such a song for a while, and when she mentioned it to her co-creator, Aline said they had to find a place for it. Rachel says she wanted the challenge of "creating a song about boobs that was a boner-killer." As straight guys, you'll have to tell me if she succeeded with that; I'm in no position to judge. I'm glad you instantly got the grunge genre for Greg's "I Could If I Wanted To." Did you notice that it was all filmed in a single shot, no cuts, with Santino Fontana walking toward us through city streets as he sang/spoke? A ton of planning must have gone into that. It's also said to be visually inspired by the Verve song "Bitter Sweet Symphony," whose video did the same thing.

Totally picked up on The Verve homage lol and yes it was indeed a turn off, albeit a brilliant and hilarious song!

One tiny detail that I love: when Greg and Rebecca were heading off to to begin their sexual marathon, the musical underscoring was playing "Settle For Me."

I've been waiting in gleeful anticipation for "Heavy Boobs". It tends to stop male reactors in their tracks, flummoxed about how to respond. I saw an interview somewhere about the choreography....basically Rachel Bloom told the choreographer that they needed a boob-centric dance that wasn't sexy, because the idea isn't supposed to be for the male gaze, but just a gritty truth bomb about boob reality. I think they nailed it.

Oh, and Greg's grunge song is particularly good to me because I showed it to MY friend Greg. He watched it and said, "Yup, this is exactly the music I used to listen to when I had exactly this attitude." Then he watched a little more and said, "I could make a better song than this" just as CXG Gred said, "This song sucks! I could make it good if I wanted to." It was perfect timing.

"I Could If I Wanted To" is one of my absolute favs ..."Heavy Boobs" is also one of my favs. (not that I personally relate to anything in the song apart from the definition of a dense white dwarf, because astrophysics are dope 😂)
