Yes, kids can be very mean. I went to a good high school, and there were some people that tired to push a teacher down the stairs. And they try to look good in front of their friends.

Those girls were super mean, but it was also a camp for disadvantaged teens...so presumably they're a bit rougher than regular teens. How about that song though? So problematic, but sooo catchy. Definitely another one that I get stuck in my head all the time.

That "Put Yourself First" song does a great job of satirizing that whole self-deceiving "make yourself over just for you (and then he'll notice you)" message. Rebecca's "wait a second..." comments all the way through are to the point, and even more so the photographer in the video with the shirt that says "MALE GAZE." I am so devoted to this series, I do keep a little list of minor points I could criticize, just to prove that I can admit it's not 100% perfect. And one of those is that a knowledgeable woman like Rebecca would be so totally clueless about why someplace would be called "Blowie Point."

Maybe she went into full-on innocent young camper mode, and just really dedicated herself to that role so hard that she can't fathom that these children would have dirty intent at summer camp.
