I have to laugh at y'alls horror at Karen's menstrual cup switch...you better get used to it because reusable options like cups are getting more and more popular. I'm not being at all hyperbolic to say that the switch was life changing.....so of course when they come back to Karen's struggle with figuring out the "Beaver Dam", my first thought is to send her some links to YouTubers with helpful tips. Anyway...cup crusading aside, this was yet another great episode. I love Father Brah, I love the introspection that the characters do, and every time I watch this episode I have to wonder what was happening in the writer's room where they kept putting "Buh buh buh" interruptions into the dialogue. It must be some inner joke because it happened like five or six times this episode.

Hahaha! Yes, the "buh buh buh" to silence someone was a great running gag.

You guys are (in my opinion) the best reactors this great series has had! Your alertness to the layers and undercurrents is always so gratifying, likewise your appreciation for the songs. (It sounded like you were aware of the icky "Daddy's little girl" genre of country songs that Darryl's number was spoofing.) I'll try to keep this short, hoping I haven't been one of the spoiler-y viewers you mentioned. Rene Gube, who plays Father Brah, is also one of the staff writers for the show. You mentioned how different the series would have been somewhere like Showtime. In case you weren't aware, it WAS developed originally for Showtime, as a half-hour series. Showtime paid for a pilot, then decided not to go forward when they saw it. So Rachel and her producer partner shopped it around and finally got picked up by the CW as an hourlong show. So a lot of reconception and retooling (and one bit of recasting) had to happen, but it all worked out great in the end.

That makes a lot of sense actually! Things really did work out in the end, this show is a perfect length and whereas it would be interesting to see how things would have played out on Showtime, I think it worked out for the best. Appreciate your kind words!!

The switch was indeed life-changing 😁 (your disgust at the mere idea of a menstrual cup is absolutely hilarious to me)
