Weird Magic

This episode was directed by Noah Emmerich. In the show podcast for this episode, Noah was on discussing directing Keri and Matthews sex scene as well as some of his acting stuff. On another note, originally the song at the end was some B side Dire Straits song called "If I had you". Noah didn't know the song so he listened to it and thought it could be better, so they went with the David Bowie "Under Pressure". About a year before this episode the Showrunners received a note from Bowie's group of people that he was a big fan of the show. Two days after they decided to use the Bowie song he died, so it became a tribute.

The funeral Oleg and his Dad (and Mom) attended was for his brother, not Nina. She probably is laying unmarked somewhere in Siberia. Kevin's "Oh Phil" at the exact moment in time during the "S" scene broke me....lol Originally airing on April 13, 2016, 'Clark's Place' is Episode 5 of Season 4 of The Americans. It is the 44th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.2, placing it as the #7 ranked episode of this season and #15 out of all the episodes shown so far.

I'm glad they used that song. Also this might be the most graphic sex scene on the show. I wonder if it was more comfortable or awkward with Noah directing. Either way, he knocked this episode out of the park
