1996 was an absolute golden year for movies about the American music scene in the 1960s. That Thing You Do is terrific, and a breezy trip through one side of things. If you're a fan of this movie, may I suggest you seek out "Grace of My Heart", which creates a fictional 1960s world with Ileana Douglas as Carole King, John Turturro as Phil Spector, Matt Dillon as Brian Wilson, Eric Stolz at Gerry Goffin, etc. etc. It is an inspired, unjustly forgotten movie from the '90s that deserves more love than it gets.
