Thank you Steph! For mentioning the REASON for acceptable and unnacceptable age differences. So many people jump to criticizing "legal" ages using only the modern American standard without considering all the variables. Ie. Japan, 14 is practically an adult because of their culture, so their laws reflect that. Idaho even, it's legal within 5 yrs apart after 12 and up (maybe 13 or 14) with parental permission, so as a teen, all my bfs were technically adults because of my high mental age. This is why instead of age, many cultures go by life stages. Age doesn't determine your maturity in comparison to another's, but life stage does because it means the two involved are in the same field of maturity. Think of it like; my cousin (21) has extremely low functioning autism with the mental age between 5-7 approx. He could very well date an adult but any typical 21+ year old would be uncomfortable dating him because very different stages. I was on both ends of this as well. My ex was 5 yrs older than me and I was 13. We were in the same life stage when we started dating but eventually he broke up with me because he said he outgrew me" cuz he entered a new life stage. There was also someone I liked who was only a little younger in age but because he was vastly immature compared to me, I felt like a creeper and stopped hanging around him because he felt too young. Yet another niche aspect to Anthropology I like to nitpick.. xD Oh and let's all remember that in anime, cartoons, books, ect. Age is irrelevant and modern American legal issues can't be applied.. well, I guess you can try but it will not change lol. But especially in anime, when u have adults that look like they play barbie and kids that look like they have 2 mortgages to pay off 🤣 Oh! P.s. just to add, even if married at--say--10 yrs old, they would wait to consummate the marriage.. typically. You gotta imagine, it probably weirded out most men to even think of sleeping with someone that could be their own child and there was no point until they were fertile anyway

Violet wasn't an enemy soldier, she was abandoned on an island and learned how to survive by any means necessary, basically like an animal. Diethard and his unit actually rescued her from the island. However, one of the soldiers tried molesting her, so she defended herself and killed him. The rest of the soldiers tried to subdue her, so she killed all of them. Diethard is the only one who didn't try to harm her, and Violet needed him to operate the ship so she left him alive. From his perspective, she's a monster that randomly decided to slaughter all his brothers-in-arms, which explains his hostility. It in no way excuses his actions and treatment of her, but it is somewhat understandable.
