Kenny

So excited!!! Hope you guys are feeling better 🙏🏾

Honey

Omg!!!!! Thank you. I'm so excited

Eli Min

Here we gooooooo

Daniela Miño

OMGGGG I'M SO HERE FOR THIS LET'S GOOOOO

Honey

Not wes going on a rant about why everyone deserves to die😂😂😂

Katrin

yayy so excited for this show :) apparently the bullying/torture scenes where based on a true bullying case in south korea which is just horrifying to even imagine

Ninii

Ah here we go! YAS! And this was based off of a true story btw

Eli Min

Back to back kdramas ?? Whuuutt? And these 2 are extreme opposite genres too. Lol so fun, I’m excited. 😂🫶🏼

Eli Min

Delinquent teens are to be feared here cause they can never be jailed and if they would do something so horrible they would be placed in like a juvenile facility with good food and comfortable sleeping quarters, entertainment equipments, etc. I remember this one case of a group of teenagers who terrorize a community and eventually killed a delivery guy just cause. And all of them didn’t care cause well, they can’t be jailed.

Nafi Coté

So happy we’re getting the two k dramas I voted for!

Nele

two kdramas is such a TREAT omg thank youuuuu !! haven't watched either of them so.. this is going to be so much fun to watch it with you guys for the first time let's goooooooooo

taz

unfortunately, the bullying scenes were based off a true story :( south korea’s bullying is very heinous. and minors hardly face repercussions, so they get away with doing more. the privacy laws are also very strict, so you wouldn’t even know anything about their past. it’s why yeon-jin, one of the main bullies, is able to make a name for herself without a record (plus she’s rich so yeah)

Leenseoh

the fact that the iron scene is basen on a true story is SICKENING !!

Charmaine

I’m so excited because there’s only a few kdramas I’ve watched and liked (tbh 2 The Glory and Hi Bye Mama which are completely different lol). You made it through the first episode so now you can see more of the revenge plot without worrying if every episode is torture 😭. I had my sister watch and she was scared it would be too sad for her too after the first ep but she ended up really liking it

junie

love this show! i’d consider any “extra” damage that dong-eun (pronounced dong-uhn) inflicts on these scummy bastards to be compound interest they owe her because of how long she suffered with the trauma they gave her. excited to see you guys dive in and thanks for doing both extraordinary attorney woo and the glory. attorney woo wasn’t really my type of show but i reallyyy enjoyed this one when i watched it!

PM

Crazy how you’re reacting to the first ep on the day it premiered last year haha

Daniela Miño

thank you for the reaction the first time I watched it was so intentse I got goosebumps; but I can assure you that the revenge is so exquisite because it's not only about the bullying and the trauma that she has, it's something more that you'll understand later. And unfortunately the bullying in korea is intense and most of the times the authorities don't do anything and even protect the identity of the abuser.

Daniela Miño

and a random fact is that today one year ago The Glory was aired on netflix <3

Angela

sk laws are crazy especially when it comes to minors because they can get away with A LOT (a kdrama called juvenile justice is about that). the bullying is also very severe & it’s crazy cause if you even have proof & go to the public the bullies can then sue you for defamation (which sk takes very seriously) also im sure you’ve seen the other comments but the curling iron is based on an actual bullying incident. i believe the actual victim came forward on tv to talk about it.

Moon

This is my first time watching The Glory, it's very intense but I'm looking forward to future reactions! And yeah, bullying is huge in sk, it is such a problem that a bullying scandal can end an idols career if proven true. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the definition of bullying is so wide that it can be from extreme cases like this, to even just saying a mean joke or something amongst friends, but I may be remembering incorrectly.

drew

yes! I'll watch later

carocatowr

This is based on a true story, bullying in South Korea is no joke, also just 10-15 years ago it was totally okay for teachers to hit students it was even encouraged by parents, even today physical punishments like holding your arms up and squatting against a wall for a certain amount of time are common in classrooms, idk about the US but at least here in México a teacher can lose their job for doing something like that.

Rogue Demon

Damn, Wes is standing on business with this one

Mimosa Khaund

I am so surprised you picked this drama. This is not going to be easy specially for Steph So excited to see your reactions to the next episode. Just one thing, the actress playing the younger YeonJin in school is very funny in real life. It would be fun to watch your reaction for the Running Man episodes 680 and 681

Somnia

10:55 yes that's a shamanism ritual, still kind of practiced but not so much with younger generations. Fortune telling and face reading are done for fun nowadays. I'd take some of the comments with a grain of salt.

drew

Just so you know (haven't watched this first reaction) this is based off true storiez from different sources and bullying incidents

Yuktha

Oh Wes is gonna love every step of the revenge as the plot unfolds..😅

morela

oh i love the fact that we get reactions for both dramas, you guys really said "stop the violence and fighting in these polls" hehe

morela

im not korean but from what ive heard i think that shamanism is more common in influential/rich circles and families. there are politicians that were linked with shamanism for example

Honey

It's like you went in my head and brought out this comment. Agree with everything

nylecoj

only 1 episode per week is just torture😅

Nazalea Kusuma

Haha "turning a blind eye"

Nazalea Kusuma

This is definitely the show to get emotionally invested in. It's also a very "trust the process" story, but I promise it's very satisfying.

Nazalea Kusuma

I think what Wes is feeling is exactly what the show means to portray, that living with trauma like the way she is always has an undertone of Something Bad even when she experiences good moments.

Claang

Estoy muy, MUY emocionada porque reaccionen esto♡

Hadeel

I agree with wes honestly, if there’s no system that gains justice for me then I’d act on it myself

Waffles

I haven't even watched this myself but I've heard a lot about it so I'm looking forward to watching it with you!!, and yes the bullying in South Korea and Japan is absolutely horrific, as other comments have said the bullying depicted in the glory is based on real cases and just like the drama because these bullies are either rich or ‘too young’ to be criminalized they end up getting away with it scotch free even though some of bullying is basically attempted murder and torture. There's definitely been some new laws in Korea that have tried to stop these bullies by giving them a criminal record if severe bullying has occurred but I still don't think that's fair. Anyway I can't wait to watch with y'all and I'm loving Wes’s standing for her and while I agrees with Steph that revenge doesn't guarantee feeling satisfaction or happiness, I think what the MC went through deserves retribution especially as she tried to go about it with the proper way (police and school administration ).

Janshi

Oh Wes is in for a treat. That's all I'll say about that.
