Something interesting the show does, especially in this episode, is the comparison between Mei Mei and Nanami. Mei Mei's willingness to sacrifice her brother vs Nanami's desire to protect children. Like in S1 when he tells Yuji that it's not a sin to be a child, and in this episode he was steadfast in his decision to protect both Megumi and Maki.

Shingami = Death gods, basically grim reaper. Shikigami = a puppet spirit summoned by sorcerers/monks/priests, and in this case, curse spirits. Also I hate the soap opera effect lol it makes me physically sick
