The 13 day rule was fake so if L managed to test it out and realize that it was fake, Misa and Light would have been caught. So to avoid that, Rem wrote their names in the book

I remember when the entire Fandom went through what you're going through. We all went into denial. This episode hinted towards something important though. Ugh my heart 😭 RIP Lawliet Ps. The vibe of the show did change, you're not just seeing things. It gets a darker art style from here on out so I think they changed main artists to match the Manga better or something
