I’m glad Wes was able to pick up a lot of what was put down with regards to Eris’s mindset towards her decision and piss poor communication skills. Her being mentored by strong silent individuals (Rujard and Ghislane) didn’t give her as much influence in that regards to developing good communication skills. Upon rewatch I noticed that Eris’s mindset moving forward was formed at the 4 min mark of this episode and her reaction during Rujards goodby comments (in the light novel it’s much more fleshed out: she doesn’t think she’s strong enough to stand with Rudy if he fights Orstead again)

I really hate you guys skipped that scene because it didn't show anything but you realize Rudy is truly in love with Eris so it makes the next scene and how he reacts much more potent

Are you guys planning on reacting to the Konosuba movie and/or the Megumin centric prequel series? I check in every Thursday afternoon but I'm always disappointed. Will there at least be a replacement poll if you're not planning on continuing?

There is also a Mushoku Tensei OVA

They didn't even get explicite. That sex scene was handled with much care and thought, showing their relationship and how far they got. Most of what`s to see is just symbolic. So it is kind of sad you skipped it. I found it great from a cinematic view point and made very appropiate.

So, a few things: in the last episode, Ruijerd tells Eris that she is now a warrior and no longer a child. Ruijerd did the same thing when the Horse guy was going to blackmail Rudy in the town. At the end of that episode, when Rudy and Ruijerd talk to one another, he says he won't treat Rudy as a kid. So yes, this moment was significant for Eris last episode because it was as if she finally caught up to the strength of these two. Returning to this episode, it was very emotional to see Ruijerd treat them like kids again because his mission was over. And it showed that Eris is still, in a sense, a child.

Two other things: yes, the beginning was a nightmare, so it is okay that it doesn't make sense. Also, there is some showing or significance in the nightmare for what happens at the end of the episode—specifically, the wine.

Sadly, you skipped the scene with Rudy and Eris. I understand not wanting to watch it. I wasn't excited about it, but it was handled well, in my opinion, and showed a lot of love for the characters and their growth. Also, there wasn't much detail in the scene; from what I remember, it is one kiss and the slow motion of the glass falling, with many flashbacks. Sences to skip were moments you two watched, to be honest. There is a scene in the barn where Rudy grabs Eris's breast and tries to remove her undergarments, which is tough to watch. Secondly, I think you might have skipped it; it was when Rudy turned 10, and Eris was in his room. He crosses the line, and Eris punches him, and then she promises to be with him when he turns 15. Both do love each other, and it is not just one way. Yes, Rudy is flawed, but you see some growth; he isn't the only one wrong here. Eris has some blame as well. If you watch Semblance of Sanity's commentary on YouTube, they are good at breaking stuff down. Or I think someone who does an excellent job of breaking stuff down and compressing it in a short video is AHBrandon. I recommend watching his 8-minute video because he has excellent takes and arguments about this episode. Sorry for the long message. I know you have already passed this episode, but I think this video does deserve a watch. I'm glad that you watched this show and shared your reactions. I am having great fun seeing you two on your anime reaction journey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnkgA7xyr6w&ab_channel=AHBrandonReviews

your statement of "eris isnt even op" is very wrong, she is insanely powerful, even in comparison to most adults, the only reason her and rudeus seem relatively normal is because they are around people like ghislaine and ruijerd

At this point in the story Eris is easily a Saint Tier swordsman, probably about on par with Paul (He's advanced three styles so is roughly saint power overall)
