I think you guys misinterpreted what happened at the end there. Yuichiro is dead, that was his voice we heard, him talking about how he had to protect Muichiro with tough love and how he's sorry for not being more gentle with him. It was almost like his final words/thoughts before he passed away.

No you guys are interpreting it wrong, in the end it was Muichiro who is still alive, he is remebering what his brother thoughts are, that's why we get it from his brother point of view adressing him as Muichiro, notice how he says he is the chosen one because he wanted to help other indicating that it's still Muichiro, also they never swapped clothes so when his brother lost his arm if it was Yuichrio then it he would still be missing an arm, to give another example it would be like Tanjiro remembering how his dad talked to him adressing him as Tanjiro because it was from his dad POV, I think alot of people get confused because their twins

What these comments said 😂. It’s Yuichiro speaking about Muichiro who’s the one that’s fighting

HAHAHA i know everyone’s telling y’all about the misinterpretation but it’s kinda funny lmao, it kinda confused me too for a sec but yeah that was yuichiro talking about muichiro and muichiro is indeed the one alive

^ Exactly what everyone is saying here lol You guys are mixing up the twins. The one you keep calling Tokito, he’s Muichiro. The colder twin is Yuichiro. Muichiro is the hashira. The one speaking at the end that made you guys confused is Yuichiro talking about Muichiro — which I understand the confusion because it was showing Muichiro fighting while Yuichiro was talking.

Muichiro, the hashira, was always the more softer, optimistic one. There was no twist or intentional misleading storytelling/plot.
