When I saw you guy were doing Fullmetal Alchemist it was one of the reasons I pledged the other being Konosuba. But this is NOT Fullmetal Alchemist this is the remake Fullmetal Alchemist: BROTHERHOOD that follows the manga source material more closely, like Sailor Moon Crystal is doing. THEY ARE DIFFERENT! I have watched your Konosuba and since this IS NOT Fullmetal Alchemist but Fullmetal Alchemist: BROTHERHOOD I will un-pledge now thx.

It's cool seeing you two watch this show. The entire anime community (in the West) says it is the best made. If you look at anime polls or websites that recommend anime to people. Fullmetal will be there.

A few things: I know you have been watching this for like a year now. But this is Fullmetal Alchemist BROTHERHOOD; it is a remake of the original. The first show, Fullmetal Alchemist, caught up to the manga and had an anime-only ending. Fans didn't like it and kept asking for a remake, and they did it. That is why this one is called Brotherhood. So, it is essential to identify whether or not it is Brotherhood because most people only watch and prefer Brotherhood to the Original.

This first episode goes fast. As you have learned, this is a remake. The show didn't want to lose the audience's interest in recapping what the original did, so they went breakneck pace. The first 15 episode of this show covers maybe 20ish episode to at most 30 episodes in the original. The original broke away from the manga around that time, so the show Brotherhood wants to reach that point as fast as possible. Also, I believe this episode is like filler; I could be wrong. But both shows, I think, start with filler episode(s) to introduce the characters and the world and then enter the city of Leor.

Great reaction. This show is amazing. I wish you watched the dubbed version because it is so good. Yu YU Hakusho is another anime that is best watched in English. Stephanie, I swear some of your ideas are crazy. Are you sure you haven't already seen this show? lol

You should watch Fullmetal Alchemastic Brotherhood instead of the original show- it is waaay better

I liked it at the time it aired & the different take on the story. But I do enjoy the story of Brotherhood more as it was intended to be. I just liked them both.

I grew up with the original series so I actually never seen Brotherhood. This will be interesting. 😊 right off the bat, it's weird hearing Ed sound like a child lol I only ever heard him in English before.

When I saw this in the banner o was like what what!! This is my fave anime from when I was a teen watching it on midnight swim. It’s crazy to rewatch decades later and understand the Japanese. Personal reference of growth I didn’t expect. There were so many 20th anniversary celebrations this year and it’s awesome to watch you guys enjoy it together. Awesome way to end the year and gear up for 2023. Thanks for sharing
