this episode is so sad now that I’m rewatching through watching your reaction. when i first watched I was already spoiled about junpei’s death but the opening made me believe he survived that scene and somehow joined them and died some other way but now knowing he died there it’s heartbreaking 😭

this episode is when I genuinely started to hate Mahito because I really liked Junpei as a character, and started to think he could maybe a start a new life at Jujutsu High, so I thought he would survive because he's also been shown on the opening, so people who were anime only and have not read the manga felt betrayed by the opening because they didn't think Junpei was going to die, I even cried when I first watched it because I wanted him to have a better life and for him to just be manipulated like that when he was on his lowest just made me sad because he didn't deserve it
