Man 1 episode per week is killing me 😭😭, I already suffer when the show was streaming. Would be awesome if some week we can get a 2-3 episodes release since it has 2 seasons and its a lil bit long and the anime is just too good

I grudgingly like Askeladd.. but I have to clear up some things, it's bugging me lol Jom is pronounced "yolm" because J = Y in Germanic languages. (Exept German) All Norse people practiced in slavery (which wasn't always horrible since laws protected slaves most of the time and they could earn their leave, but there's always cases of people using power over someone) but Thors was an anomaly at this period of time. Even his children thought it was weird and a hassle they couldn't get a slave to help work. (Also if they did have a slave, they would've likely been kept quite well) Askeladd (like many warriors at the time) respect strength and power, and Askeladd seeing Thors being such a great warrior, great leader and amazing fighter, he respected him greatly and truly wanted him to join them so he could follow him, knowing that Thors could only live as a pirate after Floki hired the hit. Thors would die regardless, so he wanted Thors to live because he admired him but doesn't respect Floki.

The duel between Askeladd and Thor's had a silent agreement of sorts; Thor's challenged him in hopes of winning the duel and gaining the chance to bargain for everyone's safety. (The culture around duels in the story is highly respected, you honor duels especially when done in the name of Odin etc obviously most follow this but not all... still you could almost rely on this to be a universal practice for viking culture.) Now, Askeladd did honour the duel. He only let the arrows fly /after/ the duel was confirmed over. (Thors asking if he had won) Because Askeladd is smart and almost immediately has Thors typed; he knows what Thor's wants in return for winning the duel. To let everyone who was with him go safely- this includes confirming Thor's death so that his family and village continue to stay safe after this point since well... the hit was sent. they know where his village is now. That's always going to be a threat so long as Thor's stays alive, hence why he couldn't agree to lead the pirates on offer and leaving Thors with no real other options besides dying. Askeladd understands that by declining his offer Thors is a dead man walking. So Askeladd never betrayed the duel here. He honored Thors victory by giving him what he wanted, death (to protect everyone back home) and his word that he would not do anything to the others.
