One thing a lot of people tend overlook is the implications of Nanahoshi being unable to use magic. She was forcefully transported to another world without any of the perks, and is essentially in a dangerous fantasy world as a regular person. That just makes her homesickness and feelings of isolation even worse.

As always, a lot of info regarding summoning is left out. Regarding summoning circle sound: it just failed. That's all. In LN Rudeus and Nanahoshi experiment is routine. Stress has been building up gradually. Anime does good job, but not as LN (((.

I hope Steph only got spoiled for stuff that happens this season but if she got spoiled for season 3 stuff there is still a lot to dissect and speculate on just don't read the comments especially on YouTube or Twitter

The sound on the magic circle was just a magical sound effect. The "growl" sound comes because usually our brains associate magic circles with holograms (because they usually appear on air, similar to holograms) so usually magic that involves magical circles sound more digitalized. Imagine a digital sound but very toned down and slowed down, it would sound almost like a growl. If you re-listen to it I think you will see what they were going for lol edit: I just re-listened to it myself and I think they went more for a "broken engine-ish" sound. It starts with a charging up sound effect but sound gets a little broken midway through hence why Rudeus says "I feel like something is off"

I’m pretty sure Nanahoshi has been there for five years, maybe even six years tops. Since the mana disaster is what summoned her and thus happened when Rudy was 10 years old.

The thing with this show is it tells you when paradigm shifts are going to happen. They are called turning points so I would say you can relax until the episode called turning point...3? there was the teleportation event, Orsted, I don't think the Eris stuff was a turning point but it may have been labeled as such so 3 or 4.

that also speaks to time running differently as they were summoned at the same time but there was a delay in Nanahoshi actually arriving in the world, it may also mean that the other person who disappeared hasn't actually arrived yet as she was the nexus for the first mass teleportation.
