This follow-up to season one's As Darkness Falls works pretty well, I think. Lucy Lawless, this time wearing a wig out of necessity, returns as Lila. The episode was originally supposed to have Lila stay dead. But someone (the studio, I believe) thought it was too horrible for a mother to die, so they had her be restored to life by Zeus. It might seem odd that Herc's dad would choose this seemingly random tragedy to rectify, but my "head canon" is that it was a clumsy attempt to reach out to Hercules, maybe because it involves his son's friends and a situation somewhat similar to the death of Hercules' own family. ... Salmoneus and Herc always make me happy. I love Sal.
