Second soldier down :(. Cordy this episode said she finally understood doyle's choice and that is because she knew her mission was to help angel stay on mission like doyle did in season 1 with his sacrifice. Charisma at first did not want to come back after the whole whedon thing but after she read the script she decided that it was a good send off to her character. Cordy had such an amazing arc through buffy and angel. It sucks that she could not be a major part of the last season but her presence her shows that she brings something great to the show. What makes this show different from buffy is these people aren't doing the work because it's their destiny or purpose. (Their goal is to just keep fighting for redemption until the end.)The fight never just ends as there is always evil in the world.

Catching up with these episodes. This was the 100th episode of Angel. Originally, they meant for BUFFY to be the one to come and help Angel. But Sarah Michelle Gellar was busy at the time, I read that there was a death in the family, but I am not certain if that was the reason. David Fury then changed the episode for Cordelia to come back. From the Wiki, he says: "This turned out to be a Godsend because Charisma was fantastic." Not only was Charisma fantastic, she is the ONE that had to be back. SHE WAS THE HEART of the show, or rather the heart of team Angel. They said it several times throughout the seasons, she became the one to set him straight many times and to be there to help him and inspire him. It was her rightful place to be back, and who would have thought that annoying cheerleader from the first episode of Buffy would turn out this way? Yeah, yeah, Joss Whedon is an ass in the way he treats his people. But he did some good character development in Cordelia, even if he tried to diminish her character like a foul demon in the show. And Joss said that with Cordy he achieved what he wanted to do with Buffy...to take an airhead, ditzy and superficial cheerleader character and turn her into a strong warrior and leader. And Cordelia Chase was more than that to Angel and the team. An amazing journey, and like Charisma Carpenter said, this episode is "bittersweet... a love letter to Cordelia." She went out like a champion. That last scene is one of my favorite heartbreaking scenes of any television show. It ALWAYS makes me emotional for the great characters created by the actors and writers.

She really was the heart of team Angel... ugh, the knot in my throat is back haha Cordy came a long way and I hated to see her end but it was absolutely marvelous. If she had to go, she did it in the best way possible
