I don't hate spike. I love his character and his growth. He is in my top 5 buffy characters. Wes, fred, spike, buffy, and willow are my favorites. Also i don't remember if i said vampires can't love. What i meant is it is not really love. It is twisted love. Spike loved dru and darla loved angel but that love was exactly like the jacket love in that episode. Spike wanted buffy to be more like him in season 6. When he could not have that he turned to trying to be more like her and got what he thought she would want him to get. His soul. But now he can reflect on things better and can have real growth. He even realized buffy was not sleeping with him out of love. Which he did not really understand before which is why he tried to rape her. Because Sex equals love in his eyes.
