A Catholic priest doesn't need to contact the Vatican itself for permission if they want to do an exorcism, just their local bishop. If the local bishop approves and the subject goes through a medical evaluation to preclude mental illness, then any Catholic priest may conduct the exorcism. The Vatican essentially gives implicit permission to perform exorcisms to priests to perform exorcisms when they're ordained. A Catholic nun, or any woman for that matter n would never have the sanction of the Vatican to perform an exorcism since their church never ordains females as priests. While other religions perform exorcisms as well, none of them consider the Vatican as their religious center, and therefore wouldn't contact them for permission either. It makes sense why Mr. Anderson was such an asshole to Angel. When you have pets and family friends being killed for reasons you can't explain, yet all signs point to your son being the culprit, would you encourage your wife to invite someone into your home, or would you try and rush them off to protect them? You actually can pack a small wound with coffee grounds to stop the bleeding, but you could do the same with mud and I wouldn't recommend either. If you don't pack it on properly, the coffee grounds could easily infect the wound and a tight bandage will stop the bleeding just as easily, if not better. The Psylis Eucalipsis Powder only causes demons to manifest themselves. Doesn't did anything to paralyze or hurt them. What drained the Ethros demon in this episode of it's energy was escaping from Angel's building, not being excised in and of itself. That's why the one that killed the priest had the energy to do so.
