The sign on Yennefer's shop, "Correctives quite effective, whatever your objective," is basically just a cutesy and memorable way of saying whatever anyone's problem is, she can cast a spell to cure it. The spell she does cast on the couple is a cure for erectile dysfunction. Basically, he'll have an erection until she says the word "kumquat." Ginseng is garbage. For memory you want to take gingko biloba. From my experience, fishing nets are about four meters in diameter, but considering Geralt is doing everything by hand and carries his net seemingly with him at all times, it's understandable he'd use a smaller one for compact storage.

Ginkgo biloba is specifically targeted towards helping memory. Whether it works or not is another question, but it certainly won't do worse than ginseng.
