Fantastic video, though I have one observation regarding it, which isn't really a criticism but...it's complicated. Remember when you and Ethan put "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill on your Worst of 2001 list? I disagree with it being there, not for personal opinion of the song, but because it felt like the reasoning for it being there could best be boiled down to "residual hatred for the movie "Pearl Harbor"". That obviously oversimplifying it, but it's not entirely incorrect either, and I don't think that's fair to it. I think songs should be judged for the actual content of the song before anything else, and if anything outside the song makes it worse, then include that with your reasoning. I bring this up because I knew where your #1 pick was going and I got very worried about how you were going to tackle it. And yes, much of your criticism for it (along with #2 technically) were for reasons outside the song....and yet you sold me on it. Mostly because you've been following music the entire year so you could path this trajectory and see how music was evolving as time went on. So I applaud those segments as I thought they wouldn't work, and yet they did. I must also state that I personally cannot review music that way myself, I *have* to review music in a vacuum, out of respect for retro lists. There might be history behind those songs, but in the end, I didn't live in most of those years, so I can't fairly judge those songs based on outside factors. Also, I don't make Seasonal Rankings, so I can't even follow current music the same way you do, so reviewing music in the same way as you would not be feasible to me. But for you, you've made it work, and I support you critiquing music with this mindset, provided you keep your composure, which you've proven your ability to countlessly.
