This video hit me really hard. 6 or 7 years ago I was at my local Walmart and upon returning my shopping cart to the little stations you drop them off at I saw 3 German Shepards in the back of a Toyota Rav-4. 1 of them was big the other 2 were smaller and all of them were laying down with their tongues hanging out of their mouths because of the heat. I called my wife over and she agreed we needed to do something. While she called the police I broke the hatchback window open and pulled them out of the car. The 2 smaller dogs were deceased. The bigger of the 3 was taken to an emergency veterinarian clinic where they attempted to save her life. I reached out to the vet a few times over the course of the next 3 days because I was interested in adopting the dog. Unfortunately the vet informed me the dog has passed away after 2 days from what was likely "a combination of being locked in the car and unwillingness to eat" which he said "was most likely caused by depression for the loss of her 2 puppies and separation anxiety from losing its owner in rapid succession". If you notice I said "her 2 puppies" it was just then that I had realized that was a mother and what I later found out were her baby boy and baby girl locked in the back of that SUV. The owner was identified and arrested for animal cruelty. She apparently took 3 of those dogs to work to "show a co-worker during their break how cute her dogs puppies were". Luckily the other 6 puppies at her house were found unharmed and were taken from her. I am beyond proud of the awareness that has been spread over the last few years regarding how serious locking a kid or animal inside a hot car truly is. I am also very proud of how serious our legal system and law enforcement officers are taking it and enforcing it.

After watching, I came to the conclusion that he did this on purpose. He didn’t want his child anymore and was most likely leaving his wife for the woman he was chatting with. He thought he could get away with this murder.
