Dev Update 7/4/22 (Patreon)

Hey, friends! Hope everyone's week is off to a nice start!

Second - it looks like I can safely call the results of the swimsuit poll! Looks like Cassie will definitely be getting a two-piece for her birthday! :D

Onto general FiN business - I'm still busy writing, and less busy rendering. I've written 1000 lines of dialogue/code for the new update, comprising the first scene of Chapter Three, and part of the first sex scene. Sex scenes are always a little tricky - lots of choice branches, lots of labels and jumps, and lots of potential renders to think about. But, they're also the funnest part to render, so I suppose that's just the trade-off you make.

Looking through a previous draft of Chapter Three, I realized that I could take a rather large conversation that I'd written for it, and put it in this new draft, which is awesome. I had to clean up some of the dialogue and change certain things to reflect the game's current reality, but that'll really fill out this chapter with some additional characterization for one of our main characters while also moving the larger plot along, without forcing me to rewrite a ton of stuff.

I've got some cool stuff cooking for this chapter, including a significant plot branch divergence, based on how you chose to play Chapter Two. The images above may give you a hint.  I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I feel good about a mid-to-early August release date. I'm trying to take some stuff I learned from The Student Loan about being a bit more conservative with my conversation/story renders, as well as improving my overall workflow, and it should speed up my whole process quite a bit.

Other news: I'm going to launch a patron-only Discord channel for the game later this month. I was initially a bit reluctant to do so, but with the game enjoying some healthy growth, I'd like to have a place where I'm a little more readily accessible. Patreon's messaging system can be a little buggy at times, causing me to miss comments or questions from subscribers, and I'd like to avoid that as much as possible.
