There's an old proverb that goes like this..

---

A  farmer and his son had a beloved horse who helped the family earn a  living. One day, the horse ran away and their neighbours exclaimed,  “Your horse ran away, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe  so, maybe not.”

A  few days later, the horse returned home, leading a few wild horses back  to the farm as well. The neighbours shouted out, “Your horse has  returned, and brought several horses home with him. What great luck!”  The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”

Later  that week, the farmer’s son was trying to break one of the horses and  she threw him to the ground, breaking his leg. The neighbours cried,  “Your son broke his leg, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe  so, maybe not.”

A  few weeks later, soldiers from the national army marched through town,  recruiting all boys for the army. They did not take the farmer’s son,  because he had a broken leg. The neighbours shouted, “Your boy is  spared, what tremendous luck!” To which the farmer replied, “Maybe so,  maybe not. We’ll see.”

Friends in Need sees you stepping into the role of a man who, years earlier, made a very bad decision that nearly resulted in your financial ruin. Years later, the reverberations of that decision echo once more through your life, suddenly enriching you beyond your wildest imaginings.

But, as it turns out, money really can't buy you happiness. Feeling adrift in a sea of possibilities, you struggle to find purpose in your new life. After all, when you have the money to do everything.. why do anything?

However, when your best friend and long-time crush comes to you for help with her own financial misfortune, the path before you suddenly becomes more clear. Armed with nearly unlimited resources, you realize you can be a force for great good - or evil.

Confronted with choices, you'll be forced to make decisions that will impact the course of your life and relationships, as well as the lives of those around you.

Will your newfound wealth, and the life it's granted you, be a blessing or a curse?

As the farmer said: "We'll see."

Good start! I'd strongly recommend starting a discord channel at some point.

Thanks for the pledge! Currently, I don't feel comfortable taking on the task of moderating a micro-community on Discord. Between my day job, FiN, and my occasional freelance art work, I'm already stretched pretty thin, and I don't believe in doing things that my whole heart isn't in. But, I'm always here to answer questions and concerns!
