Merry (Early) Christmas everyone!

Remember we told you last month that we would be attending the Degige (Digital Games) convention held in Akihabara? And that we'd love to be able to share the build we displayed there to our patrons if we could find resource to translate it to English? Well, we've managed to do just that and in time for Christmas! (A thousand applause to Dei who worked on the translation to get it out in time) The typical tier to receive access to builds like this are $20+ but in the holiday spirit, we're happy to announce that we're releasing it out to everyone who's a current patron.

MS2b Degige Build v1.1 macOS

MS2b Degige Build v1.1 Windows

Just a reminder though, this isn't a "please give us a bug-report" type of release. It's more of a vertical slice sort of thing where we're giving a big sneak peak of how fault series is going to proceed from MS2b forward (with the exception of the StP series which will still be a traditional VN). The idea is that you, patron, were there at the convention to actually get your hands on this build. Except you get to do it at home. On Christmas. Yay.

Because so, polishing this build as a "final product" was not the priority. It was presented in an arcade style fashion where people would sit down and play for however long they desired and can leave whenever. Thus there are no saves, no settings, no roll back or any other fancy features that make up a proper release. There are are also weird bugs and rough edges like text extruding from the text box, blinks sometimes not working properly, Ritona jittering at random times, facial expressions not perfectly matching a scene, collider issues, etc. We know there's a bunch of weird shit going on. While we won't ignore bug reports if you desire to send them in, but please keep in mind that if you find odd quality issues that are inconsistent with our properly released titles, just assume they will be fixed in final release; this is very much a work in progress.

That being said, here's some of the conditions that you should know before diving in:

- Though not required, use of a controller is recommended
- Some UI elements may not be fully translated*
- Text box transition is a bit buggy and can feel jittery at times
- Sprite transitions can feel wonky and choppy at times
- Music/BGM work is far from being done
- Sound effects are basically non-existent
- Your RTX 4090 may not be powerful enough to tame MS2b at anything above 1440P/60FPS (so we’ve locked the game to 1080 for now)

Controls

Keyboard:

- WASD to move Ritona
- Enter or left mouse button to proceed text
- Shift to run
- Tab for "assessment"

Controller:

- D-Pad / Analogue stick to move
- North button for "assessment"
- East button for interact
- South button to run/cancel

*One of the UI still in JP: When you see this prompt, press [TAB] on keyboard, north button on controller.

To quit, you’ll have to Command + Q or Alt +F4 because there is no quitting; an analog to game dev.

Please drop by and leave thoughts and comments once you played through it, as we'd love to hear feedback! I really think we're onto something very cool.

And last but not least... thank you everyone for a wonderful 2022. Now with the proper environment and man power development is going smoother than ever. We were able to release LIGHTKRAVTE that took a mere 9 or so months from inception to completion and have been working super fast on MS2b which is a totally different genre of game, which is no light feat.

We hope 2023 will mark a big return of the fault series.

If we don't see you again this year, have a Happy New Years and we’ll see you in 2023!

-AiD Team / Munisix

Thanks for releasing this, it's a very nice christmas present! It seems to be a cool concept from the snippet we get to see in the demo. I look forward to seeing how it all develops and comes together. Here's to a great 2023 for all!
