Vilserio folks!

Happy early Halloween to those who celebrate it, we hope you’re all safe and well reading some good books or manga.

AiD is currently working our ass off to attend an event called Degige-Haku that takes place in Akibahara on the 13th of November. There should be up to 3 playable seats where people can get their hands on this small demo of MS2b!

To be perfectly honest, the game isn’t close to completion yet, but we’re setting smaller milestones so we push ourselves to keep things on track. Going from a visual novel format to a full 2d/3d adventure game with proper game mechanics has been an absolute challenge but it’s giving us so many new ways to show the world of fault off and we couldnt be happier with how things are progressing. Please check out the video, and we hope you like how things are going along.

There will be 2 main game mechanics in MS2b, the “Assessment Mode” and “Kaidoku (Decipher) Mode".

Pictured above: A Ritona assessing a situation.

“Assessment Mode” is a mode where Ritona assesses (duh) a small area around her and you get to see what she is thinking about the current situation and the things she finds notable. This mode’s main function is to prevent players from getting stuck looking for a trigger to progress the story. It also keeps Ritona’s distance intimate with the player because the idea is that you should enter this mode whenever something new happens, and you get to see what she is thinking

Pictured above: A Ritona busting out a Decipher Kravte.

“Kaidoku Mode” is where Ritona can decipher hidden things around the Vita Domain. These things may or may not appear when Ritona goes into Assessment mode; the player has to guide her around and try breaking hidden seals around the map to gain access to them. This Kaidoku Kravte uses Mana and Mana can be replenished by drinking cocktails at the Cellar Door bar. But because of Ritona’s current health condition, she will pass out of you drink too much or choose cocktails that are still too strong for her to handle.

To me, the greatest strength that a Visual Novel possess is the intimacy (and no, not that kind of intimacy) of how how close you can get to characters (and no, no that kind of close), especially the protagonist. Characters and what they are thinking is the most interesting part of story based video games to me; when you get to see what these characters are feeling and how they react to events that may or may not be important to the main plot. Sometimes I dont even care about the stats or the gameplay in RPG's, I just want to see an interesting world unfold a story and that’s exactly the direction where I've want to take fault in. Assessment mode and Kaidoku modes were built on this idea. You are not Ritona. But you get to stick closely by her and see all of her inner thoughts. Fun eh?

There’s still a lot that has to be done but I feel like we’re making excellent progress. We are planning on releasing this small demo to certain tiered patrons too, so please stick around for that.

Also I feel like I say this a lot but none of this would have been possible without a bunch of a things aligning perfectly and one of those elements is you, good patron. Your financial support helps us immensely as it gives us the headroom to purchase assets and pay other excellent artists properly for their amazing services. WIthout you, we would not be here, AiD would have been over a long time ago when we had the programmer drought.

Thank you all and throw some comments down below if you have any questions!
