Do you remember, the 21st night of September? 

I do, 'twas a dark and stormy affair. The wind rattled my windows as the cold rattled my bones. The fog was thicker than the muck that churns in the grimy deep, nary more than three feet could an able man see. As hail pressed upon the old wooden walls my heart did jump as the door, rotted as it had been through the many seasons slammed open. 

And what thereupon did I see but a man, silhouetted in the doorframe by a strike of distant lightning. He stood there but momentarily, the wind buffeting his long coat violently, before stepping in with murderous intent.
