🍓 avoiding “muddy” smudge tip 🍓 (Patreon)

I get asked  about how I use the smudge tool a lot, many struggle with this muddy look including me 🗿 here’s how I fix it:

when colors don’t blend well it’s a symptom rather then a technical problem with your smudge 👀 it means you painting is probably lacking in information in the transitions between dark and light tones 💜 go back and add mid tones and try smudging with less opacity and gently, I use around 30/20 percent 👀💜
